Overview

Alkebulan Airlines is seeking a qualified and experienced Chief Inspector to lead inspection, quality control, and airworthiness oversight within the Maintenance & Engineering Department.

The Chief Inspector will ensure all aircraft maintenance activities, documentation, and release processes comply with ZCAA, ICAO Annex 8, and Part-145 requirements, upholding the highest standards of safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. This position demands a technically skilled, detail-oriented professional with extensive knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and quality assurance frameworks.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all aircraft inspection and quality control functions in accordance with regulatory and company procedures.
  • Ensure that all maintenance, repair, and modification work is performed to approved data and standards.
  • Verify and approve aircraft release documentation, maintenance records, and logbooks for accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct internal audits and inspections of maintenance facilities, tooling, and personnel authorizations.
  • Coordinate with ZCAA inspectors and external auditors to maintain continuous regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure timely rectification of audit findings and corrective action implementation.
  • Supervise inspectors and quality assurance personnel, ensuring proper training and currency.
  • Review and update the airline’s Maintenance Control Manual (MCM), Quality Control Manual (QCM), and Continuing Airworthiness procedures.
  • Participate in incident investigations, reliability analysis, and technical meetings.
  • Promote a strong safety and quality culture within all maintenance teams.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) – Airframe & Powerplant or Avionics, issued or validated by ZCAA or another ICAO-recognised authority.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance, with at least 3 years in inspection or quality assurance functions.
  • In-depth knowledge of ZCAA, ICAO Annex 6 & 8, and EASA/FAA Part-145 requirements.
  • Proven experience in line and base maintenance operations.
  • Excellent understanding of technical publications, maintenance records, and airworthiness documentation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with maintenance tracking systems (e.g., AMOS, Trax, Rusada).

 

Preferred Attributes

  • Previous experience as Quality Manager, Senior Inspector, or Chief Inspector in a commercial or MRO environment.
  • Auditor training in ISO 9001 or Aviation Quality Systems.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering data and regulatory standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety excellence.
  • High ethical standards and accountability in decision-making.
