Overview

We are inviting applications from qualified and motivated First Officers to join our growing flight-deck team. This position is ideal for aviators with a strong safety culture, operational discipline, and the ability to perform effectively within a professional crew environment. As a First Officer, you will assist the Captain in the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft, ensuring compliance with all company and regulatory standards under ZCAA, ICAO, and IATA guidelines.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Captain in all phases of flight planning, operation, and decision-making.
  • Conduct pre-flight inspections, route and weather analyses, and fuel planning.
  • Operate the aircraft in accordance with Alkebulan Airlines’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor flight progress, systems performance, and navigation accuracy during flight.
  • Maintain strong situational awareness and communication with ATC and company dispatch.
  • Ensure strict compliance with operational, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in recurrent training and proficiency checks as required by the company and ZCAA.
  • Represent Alkebulan Airlines with professionalism and uphold the company’s values at all times.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Valid Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL/IR) or Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) issued or validated by the Zambia Civil Aviation Authority (ZCAA) or other ICAO-compliant authority.
  • Valid Multi-Engine Instrument Rating.
  • Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate.
  • Minimum 1,000 hours total flying time, with at least 250 hours multi-engine experience.
  • Proficiency in English Language – ICAO Level 4 or higher.
  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, flight procedures, and aviation safety practices.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Clean safety record and demonstrated commitment to operational excellence.

 

Core Competencies

  • Type Rating on Embraer ERJ-120/135/145 (preferred).
  • Regional or commercial airline experience.
  • Adaptability to multi-sector, high-tempo operations.
  • Enthusiasm for continuous learning and professional development.
